The Butterfly beach lies a little towards the southern side of Palolem that is located in the Goan Cancona. The beach looks like a small cove with dense trees all around. It is also called as Honeymoon Beach.
However, the beach is somewhat remote and inaccessible on foot. No wonder, it is considered among the most of the secluded and quietly peaceful Goan beaches. However you may catch a ferry from the Palolem beach in the neighbourhood and reach the beach.
It is interesting to know that the trees in and around the beach occasionally attract a richly vast range of the butterflies. Besides, the beach looks like a butterfly. And hence the beach is known as the Butterfly beach.
The sunsets at the beach are very beautiful, making the beach more attractive. It is a good idea to visit the beach with the picnic basket and enjoy the beautiful scene presented by Nature when the sun sets.
However, the thick forest surrounding the beach makes it highly secluded making it impossible for the vehicles to reach here. But why not transform the same into an interesting opportunity to go trekking through the forest?
And in case, you do not feel like opting for trekking, you can still catch a boat from Agonda or Palolem beaches that are quite nearby. Reaching the Butterfly beach usually gives a feel as if you are in a different world altogether. With the dense forest on one of the sides and the sea on another, the landscape is simply picturesque.
