Swaminarayan Akshardham Temple is an essence of Indian
architecture. The temple happens to be one of the spiritual and sacred places
in New Delhi. The campus and whole structure are dedicated to the Lord Swaminarayan.
Located in Noida Mor, the temple was built and designed by BAPS. The place was
constructed as per the Pancharatra Shastra and Vastu Shastra. It got opened to
the worshippers and visitors in 2005.
Swaminarayan Akshardham campus houses quite a few exhibition
centers that offer information about the Swaminarayan and his life. Like other
Hindu temples, the major attraction of the palace is the Swaminarayan Mandir.
It stands at a height of 43 meters and features intricate carvings. The Mandir
is surrounded by lush greenery featuring fresh flowers and rows of trees. The
dancers, deities, and musicians add to the beauty of this Mandir. The whole
structure boasts the combination of the Italian marble and Rajasthani
With 20,000 idols of the deities and devotees, the Mandir
features nine domes and 148 elephants (which are known for their significance
in Hindu tradition). The idol of Swaminarayan (the main deity) sits right
beneath the central and main dome. In addition to Swaminarayan, the temple
houses the idols of Lakshmi Narayan, Sita Ram, Shiv & Parvati, and Radha
& Krishna. Being one of the world’s largest Hindu Mandirs, Swaminarayan
Akshardham Temple is an ultimate sacred place for spiritual tourists out there.

day. The campus opens to visitors every day except for Monday. Visitors are
